Delete your mecspot account

1. Overview

At mecspot Private Limited we provide a clear, accessible path for requesting the permanent deletion of your account and all associated personal data, in accordance with user protection laws and Google Play Store policies. This document outlines the process, the types of data erased, what may be legally retained, and compliance protocols.

2. How to request deletion

You can request account deletion through two channels:

• In the mobile app. Open the mecspot app and go to Profile, then Settings, then Delete account.
• Online form. Use the deletion request form above to submit a ticket to our compliance team.

3. Data that will be deleted

Once processed, all personally identifiable information is permanently removed or anonymised:

• Profile information and login credentials
• Registered name and email address
• Phone number and contact information
• Saved delivery addresses and location data
• Wishlist and shopping preferences
• Session logs and notification preferences
• Any uploaded verification documents

4. Data that may be retained

Certain operational data is retained for financial audits, regulatory requirements, tax purposes and legal disputes:

• Order history and transaction logs
• GST invoices and financial billing records
• Payment records and refund ledgers
• Dispute resolution and fraud investigation logs
• Customer support email and chat archives
• Security metadata required to prevent platform abuse

5. Data retention period

Retained transaction and invoice data is stored securely for 7 years, or as mandated by the Income Tax Act of India, corporate compliance and applicable consumer protection laws. Once this period expires, residual details are permanently purged.

6. Processing time

Once a request is submitted in the app or through our support desk, verification, anonymisation and deletion take up to 7 business days. You will receive an email confirmation once the process is complete.

Common questions

Will deleting my account cancel my pending orders?

No. Active or pending orders must be completed or cancelled first. Deletion cannot be processed while you have orders out for delivery or pending return requests.

Can I reactivate my account later?

No. Account deletion is permanent. You will need to register a new account if you wish to use mecspot in future.

What happens to reviews I posted?

Product reviews are detached from your personal information and anonymised, so that the integrity of marketplace product reviews is maintained.

7. Google Play compliance

The mecspot app complies with Google Play Developer Program policies, specifically the user data standards regarding account deletion. Users who register or use the mecspot mobile app can initiate a web-based or in-app request to purge their account records at any time.
